Sandra Iriarte

She graduated from Francisco Marroquin University as an Attorney at Law and Notary in 2005 (Cum Laude). She also obtained a Master Degree in Intellectual Property at the San Carlos de Guatemala University. Prior to her integration as associate at Palomo & Porras, she assisted clients in the private practice in the area of energy and telecommunications, assisted in issues related to corporate advisory and in the planning administrative and constitutional legal actions. Since her integration to our firm in the year 2001, she has advised our clients in the corporate law area.

Currently, she is the Director of our Intellectual Property Department and develops her services in administrative procedures of intellectual property rights, including origin denomination, patents and author rights. Likewise, in coordination with the Department of Litigation of our firm, advises the execution of said rights (enforcement).

She also participates in the International Trademark Association (INTA) and in the Intellectual Property Committee of the American Guatemalan Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).  Also, she teaches the Intellectual Property subject at Master Degree level at the Galileo University of Guatemala. Also, she taught free courses and seminars regarding relevant subjects of Intellectual Property to Judges, Prosecutors and Magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice.
